Complex UI Rendering

Situation: Joined company after proofer called proofme had been built which allowed designers to gather feedback on designs and customers could view changes over time.

Why: Needed to launch before Adobe conference which was going to be their big reveal to sell to design teams.

Obstacle: I was brought on to embed the application that was built into a new product that was launching two months after my start, but original devs had all left. Application was complex and was a .NET MVC app while new app was TypeScript React app.

Action: On my flight home I pondered how this was going to work on such a short timeline, and I came up with the idea to render things like maps. I did a proof of concept on my flight home that did image rendering and annotations and sent it to the CTO.

Result: Ended up building video, images, and PDF rendering in time for October launch.

State Machine at GoodLeap

Situation: Joined company early and they had no ability to enter home improvement market due to hard coded solar logic.

Why: Home improvement allowed them to get into lending for roof installs and that goes hand in hand with solar.

Obstacle: no one from the business knew the full life cycle. Only small teams that knew their part.

Action: Built a state machine by pair programming with different parts of the business, projecting the state machine visualization and walking through the life cycle.

Result: Now business has a visual of how loan process and it's configurable.

White label Design Systems

Situation: At GoodLeap, I had built dashboard systems for banks to track loan status like delinquency and paydown rates, and we also had a solar application portal that partners wanted to embed into their website
